Meet Dr. Pelaez

Dr. Roberto Pelaez, DVM

Dr. Roberto Pelaez is passionate about keeping pets healthy and helping families feel confident in their care. With a background in preventive medicine and a special interest in apiculture, he brings both science and heart to his work. He was part of the Honey Bee Research Centre at the University of Guelph, where he combined his love for animals with a strong focus on research and wellness.

Originally from Cuba, Roberto was drawn to veterinary medicine by a deep care for animals and a desire to make a real difference in their lives. That dedication paid off, he graduated among the top three in his class, earning awards for academic performance along the way.

At home, Roberto shares his life with Khali, a lovable 10-year-old Basset Hound–Husky mix with a strong personality and even stronger opinions. He’s also fostered a few kittens over the years and enjoys exploring the outdoors in his downtime.

Whether it’s through a check-up, a kind word, or just taking the time to listen, Dr. Roberto is all about building trust and keeping pets (and their people) happy and healthy.
